Lodging Recommendations
There are many lodging options available to you in Big Sur itself, as well as many more further north in the Monterey or Carmel area. We highly recommend you stay at the Big Sur Lodge, as that is where we have blocked out rooms for you and will be most convenient for the shuttle service to and from Paion.

Please remember that September is still in the tourist season for central California, so the rooms will be booking up quickly. Following are our suggestions as to where to stay for your visit.

The Big Sur Lodge is the most convenient place to stay for the wedding, as the shuttles will be departing from here. We have blocked out 40 rooms for our guests, just mention that you are with the Paulsen/Zelus wedding.
They offer the following accommodations:
Standard bedroom: 1-4 beds ($200-$294)
Kitchen suites: 2-4 beds ($334-364)
Fireplace suites: 2-4 beds ($304-$334)

For the adventurous or more economically minded, there’s always camping. This park is attached to the Big Sur Lodge, so again, it would be the most convenient for shuttles. Starting at just $25 a day, the campsites have access to full bathrooms with showers and even Wi-Fi!

Monterey/Carmel
Located about 30 miles north of Big Sur, the Monterey Peninsula offers many hotels, motels and B&B’s. We will be arranging shuttle service to and from Monterey and Carmel on the day of the ceremony, so please let us know where you end up staying.
